Cooper is a socially awkward seventh grade boy who struggles with being honest with himself. He has a “girlfriend,” supposedly, but he is faced with issues of acceptance and has only one wish: for everyone to be equal.

But Cooper has a secret only his journal knows—a secret that could ruin all chances of friendship with the person he loves the most—and he isn’t ready to share that secret. And when his journal goes missing, Cooper will stop at nothing to keep his secret from coming out. But when everything starts to spiral out of control, starting with a mysterious girl on his bus, he starts to wonder if his secrets will ever be safe again . . .
